Habanero Peppers

Habanero Peppers are an extremely hot variety of chile pepper and typically register between 100,000 and 350,000 heat units on the Scoville Scale.

These peppers are small and squat with a thin skin, and are usually an orange or red color. They're generally not eaten whole due to their heat, but are primarily used in making salsa and hot sauces. Habaneros have a slightly fruity flavor, which can be enhanced by roasting them, which will also mellow their heat.
